We have been working on a new hot desk and co-working space hub for Camden Collective in an old Hospital just north of Warren Street tube station. As part of this project we teamed up pattern designer Printed Sunshine to design a repeat pattern to be applied to various textiles and furniture across the space. The pattern, entitled Build no.1 is based on classic children's toy building blocks.
Printed Sunshine says: "I have had the idea for a while to develop a pattern based on a building blocks and Camden Collective new hub seemed the perfect place for it. I like the parallel of blocks being built up in the same way new start ups and freelancers will be building up their businesses."
To apply the pattern we transformed the Co-DB workshop into a print studio for three days. Printing the pattern by screen printing, we applied it to over 9 metres of calico, 3 full sheets of spruce plywood and 20 Frost Ikea stools.
The printing was done by the lovely Eva and Laure.
