Over the Easter Holidays Co-DB was invited to run a 2 day workshop about Architecture at The Children's Art School in Wimbledon. Lead by James, 30 children explored what architecture is and can be while building a variety of great structures and even having a go at town planning.
Running workshops and education is a really important part of our practice at Co-DB and these 2 days really remind us why. All the kids really engaged with the subject and it was great to see them begin to understand what goes into creating the built environment. Living in a city like London we take for granted our buildings, roads , shops and bus stops and it is easy to forget what a mess we could all be in if some people out there weren't thinking about all these things for us. Knowledge is power and it is great to be able to empower children, and anyone else, to start to think about, and learn from, the everyday things around them. I've picked a few of my favourite photos from the 2 days but for more go to the great Children's Art School Blog.
