CSVPA Desks provide students with their own bespoke workspace and storage.
Co-DB were commissioned to produce a design for 35 desks for the Fashion department at Cambridge School of Visual and Performing Arts. Using discussion and precedents of existing furniture, we worked with the client to identify their needs. We created an appropriate design for generously sized desk that is also economical in its use of material, as well as being practical to assemble and deliver.
The lacquered birch plywood used to make the desks was CNC-cut, allowing for minimal material waste as well as streamlining the construction process. The result was essentially a flat-pack that we could then easily transport, assemble and install in Cambridge. Each desk features a generous work surface surrounded by three walls for pinning up, with integrated paper tidy, cable holes and a locking cabinet. |
