Play in the Culture Mile explores the creative possibilities for early years play out and about in the heart of London.
Research and design development for the Culture Mile's growing public realm family offer in the City of London. The work focuses on children under five and their families and looks to link together play-friendly sites across the Mile, unlocking the play potential in the public realm.
Undertaking extensive site research we first identified key sensory readings of the city, focusing around the concept of "Lying-Down and Looking-Up". This has developed into a series of fully costed proposition of urban interventions and play programs.
Designed to inspire and empower families to get out-and-about, playing in the urban landscape, the project looks to establish even our very youngest citizens as cultural partners in the Culture Mile.
Our work with the Culture Mile team is ongoing so please check back for more updates soon!
