Early Years
Our early years' philosophy is to co-create beautiful settings that support the development of children. With experience in tailoring spaces to a Reggio and Montosorri practice, we are on hand to fulfil your specific design needs. We are continually working with cultural producers to improve creative early years inclusion within public space. Co-DB supports community-level co-design for early years through our partner not-for-profit organisation Play Build Play CIC. By choosing Co-DB for your design services, you'll gain in-depth knowledge from our designers and makers resulting in better, stronger communication from the beginning.
We know that practicality is essential to the ever-changing needs of early years and nursery environments, therefore, we have made many of our designs mobile and adaptable for you to move, reposition and fold away wherever you see fit. In addition, our early years' services include; detailed technical designs, SEN-orientated designs such as sensory learning builds and specialist co-design services.
Our in-house joinery workshop means we can deliver bespoke fit-out projects to the required high standards at surprisingly affordable prices. We also offer the option of flexible co-design, this means gaining our team's help wherever you are in your design journey, this could be an ongoing fit-out, middle or end of a project.
With our particular experience in the Reggio approach and parent-led childcare we work with both new and established settings to explore options around their use of space to support play, learning and teaching. We design the details and deliver physical change, all the time involving owners, managers, staff, parents and children.

Friendly Families Nursery
Friendly Family Nursery is a parent led nursery born out of an ongoing action research project initiated by the New Economic Foundation (NEF) in response to the childcare emergency in the UK. NEF partnered with Coram Children’s Charity and Peabody Communities Trust and Co‑DB to refurbish a disused nursery site in Deptford, London, and help form a new parent led nursery in its place.
